Istanbul Typography Conference
Founded in 2011
ISType is an international conference I co-founded to create opportunities for established and emerging designers to share and develop their knowledge of typography. Occurring biennially in Istanbul, ISType brings together academics, industry professionals, and students—local, regional, and international—to discuss current issues and innovations in typography and to reflect upon developments and opportunities for its future growth.

We are currently collaborating on a forthcoming ISType (History) event entitled “Symposium on Armenians in the Early Modern Ottoman Empire” on February 3, 2024. Our biennial typography conferences will also be resumed in October 2024. We continue to strive to provide opportunities for type enthusiasts to connect, collaborate, and catalyze creative ideas.
